⊞ Stream Deck quickstart

You're in.
Let's go live.

Connect OBS, set up your replay scenes, hook a Stream Deck via Global Hotkeys, and you're broadcasting replays. v1.0.24 · Windows & macOS.

CHAPTER 01

OBS Setup · connect & create scenes.

1
CONNECT

Launch OBS - Instant Replay auto-connects

Instant Replay connects to OBS via WebSocket on port 4455 automatically. No manual config needed. Look for the Instant Replay icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS) - blue means connected.

If the icon is grey:

OBS → Tools → WebSocket Server Settings → Enable on port 4455

2
BROWSER DOCK

Add the Instant Replay browser dock

The viewer lives inside OBS as a custom browser dock. Open:

View → Docks → Custom Browser Docks…

Add this URL:

http://localhost:8080/viewer.html

Drag it wherever you like - right-side panel is most common for broadcast setups.

3
REPLAY SCENE

Create the replay scene + media source

Instant Replay needs a dedicated OBS scene and media source. Default names - customizable in Settings:

  • Scene name: InstantReplay
  • Media source: VideoReplay (leave it empty - IR controls it automatically)
4
REPLAY BUFFER

Enable replay buffer + hotkey

OBS continuously records the last N seconds. Instant Replay watches that folder for new clips.

  1. OBS → File → Settings → Output → Replay Buffer
  2. Check Enable Replay Buffer, set duration (30–60s typical for boxing/MMA)
  3. OBS Keyboard Shortcuts → find "Save Replay Buffer" → assign a key (e.g. Alt+R)
Live workflow: Action happens → press Alt+R → new clip appears in dock → click LIVE → on-air instantly.
CHAPTER 02

Stream Deck · via Global Hotkeys.

WHY HOTKEYS, NOT HTTP?

No plugin install, no IP juggling, works even when OBS is fullscreen. F13–F19 are reserved for software like this - won't collide with regular shortcuts.

1
MAP HOTKEY

In the Instant Replay dock, open Settings → Hotkeys

Click any action (Play, Stop, Frame Step, Speed Delta, etc.) and press a key combo. F13, F14, F15, F16, F17, F18, F19 are recommended.

2
STREAM DECK APP

In the Elgato Stream Deck app, add a Hotkey action

Drag "System → Hotkey" onto a button. Click into the Hotkey field and press the same F13 (or whatever) you mapped in Instant Replay.

Customize the button icon and label. That's it.

3
SUPPORTED ACTIONS

Map any of these actions to a Stream Deck button

▶ Play / Pause ■ Stop ⏮ Previous frame ⏭ Next frame ⏬ Speed -25% ⏫ Speed +25% ★ Save replay buffer ▤ Add to queue ▶ Send to live ⤺ Return to scene
